"24" CONTINUES TO ATTRACT EMMY AWARD-WINNING ACTORS AS PETER MacNICOL JOINS THE CAST

Just days after 24 topped all network television series with 12 Emmy nominations, the heart-stopping drama continues to attract award-winning actors as Peter MacNicol ("Ally McBeal") joins the cast for season six. The clock will reset for 24's "Day 6" in January, Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

In its first five seasons, the suspenseful series has been nominated for a total of 51 Emmys, including five for Outstanding Drama Series and five for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Kiefer Sutherland. Last season also garnered Emmy nominations for supporting actors Jean Smart, for her portrayal of unstable "First Lady Martha Logan," and Gregory Itzin, who played conniving "President Charles Logan."

MacNicol, an Emmy Award winner for his role on "Ally McBeal," recently made a guest appearance on "Boston Legal" and has a recurring role on "Numb3rs." Next season on 24, MacNicol will be a series regular, portraying a high-ranking government official.

THE "PALMER FAMILY" UNITES AS REGINA KING AND DB WOODSIDE CLOCK IN FOR SEASON SIX OF "24"

As 24's "Day 6" approaches, the cast continues to assemble, with Regina King ("Ray") and DB Woodside (24's "Wayne Palmer") joining last season's most Emmy-nominated series as series regulars in season six. The clock will reset for 24 in January, Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

After last season's shocking assassination of beloved President Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), the Palmer Family now comes together with the addition of King as Palmer's sister "Angela," a powerful advocacy lawyer, and the return of Palmer's strong-minded brother "Wayne" (Woodside) as the recently elected President.

King is best known for her roles in "Jerry Maguire" and the Academy Award-winning "Ray," while Woodside has earned recognition for his recurring role on 24.

Oscar- and Emmy-nominated actor James Cromwell ("Babe," "Six Feet Under") and Emmy Award-winning actor Eddie Izzard ("Dress to Kill," "My Super Ex-Girlfriend") join the season six cast of 24, this year's most Emmy Award-winning television series, including Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series (Kiefer Sutherland) and Outstanding Drama Series. The clock for "Day Six" will begin to tick in January, Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

The highly respected Cromwell will recur this season as PHILLIP BAUER, the estranged father of JACK BAUER (Sutherland), while British actor/comedian Izzard will portray a villainous accomplice, DARREN McCARTHY.
