Get wound up, '24' fans: Devious Sherry will return
      By Robert Bianco, USA TODAY

Watch your backs, boys. Lady Macbeth is on the clock again at 24. Sherry Palmer adds to the 24 gang's problems starting Jan. 13.

To the delight of 24 fans everywhere, the much-missed Penny Johnson Jerald has returned to work as President Palmer's ex-wife Sherry, the conniver America loves to hate. It's 7 p.m. now on Fox's time-driven hit series; look for Sherry to show up at 10 on Jan. 13.

"I'm having too much fun. This is scrumptious," says Johnson Jerald.

When we last saw Sherry, she was running for her life from a sniper, having double-crossed the folks who helped her sneak a nuclear weapon into Los Angeles. And what is she up to this time? A little bit of everything, Johnson Jerald says — most of it trouble.

Because secrecy is the core of 24, Johnson Jerald can't say exactly where Sherry fits in to this season's virus-on-the-loose plot. All she can promise is that "the moment Sherry comes on the scene, all hell breaks loose in all areas."

Johnson Jerald's commitment to 24 is for "a handful of episodes plus a few others." But she's open for more. "Sherry's like that Jason character that never dies," she says.

      Gina Torres

'Angel' Co-Star Torres Counts to '24'
      (Sunday, December 07 03:44 AM)

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - After spending last season bouncing around the Joss Whedon universe between "Firefly" and "Angel," actress Gina Torres will take a recurring role on the FOX drama "24."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Torres will play the wife of a major donor to President Palmer's (Dennis Haysbert) political campaign. With Penny Johnson Jerald's Sherry Palmer also set to return, perhaps sparks will fly.

Developing a reputation for small, but colorful parts, Torres' other credits include a recurring role on syndicated "Hercules" (and appearances on "Xena: Warrior Princess"), the starring gig on "Cleopatra 2525," a stint as the nefarious Anna Espinosa on "Alias" and visits to the likes of "NYPD Blue" and "The Agency."
After the cancellation of "Firefly" last season, Whedon wrote Torres (who played Zoe on the sci-fi Western) the part of unstable, god-like Jasmine on "Angel."

On the big screen, Torres has been seen this year in the second and third films in the "Matrix" series.

      Learn Who’s Returning To 24!!

      I am – Hercules!!
This is from a wholly untested source - but we’ve had a lot of luck with wholly untested “24” sources over the years.
USA Today recently reported that President Palmer’s evil ex, Sherry, would be back (in a January episode if memory serves), but this is the first suggestion that another major figure from Jack Bauer’s past would turn up.
Will we learn what Jack whispered to her last season? And can the return of Naked Mandy be far behind??

I was recently jogging around Pierce Community College and I just happened to stumble upon 24 filming. There production lot is right by the college but they were filming off the lot. I got as close as I could before getting told to leave by the Fox Security guys. So I backed off for a while but I watched from a distance.

I can say with 100% certainty Nina Myers will be back. She goes inside a very large white tent and is accompanied by some of her terrorist buddies. Kiefer Sutherland is already inside the tent and Nina comes out with some cargo. It is a terrorist auction for the virus that was used earlier in the Season. Nina Myers outbid the Salazars and takes off with the virus. The main guy at the auction is a British actor named Greg Ellis. He arrives with his terrorist buddies in some Hummer's.

After Nina leaves the auction Ramon Salazar and Jack have a little conversation. Ramon shoots his brother Hector and gives Jack an ultimatum. Jack has to steal the virus from Nina or he will be killed.

Right now on the production lot is a very large c-130 airplane. It has been made to look like it has crashed and I don't have alot of information about this scene.

      Jim

      24's scheming ex-wife always surprised
      Alex Strachan
      CanWest News Services

      Tuesday, January 20, 2004
Every time Penny Johnson Jerald picks up a 24 script she is surprised at what her character, ex-wife of the president, is going to do.

LOS ANGELES - The following took place between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Jan. 16. Events occurred in real time.

1:31:04 -- Penny Johnson Jerald, who plays Sherry Palmer, President Palmer's scheming ex-wife on 24, is asked at the semi-annual gathering of the Television Critics Association what she thinks about the Fox network's penchant for giving key story twists away in the show's weekly promos.

The unexpected return of her character, for example, after six months' absence.

Assuming she is allowed to talk about it, that is.

"I talk about everything," Jerald says, "and I say absolutely nothing, because that's what we do on 24. Yep, she's back. I can definitely tell you that, because you've seen it for yourself. And I think she's going to turn the world upside down as you know it."

1:32:14 -- Kiefer Sutherland, who looks more relaxed and tanned in real life than the harried counterterrorism agent he plays on TV, weighs in on the same issue.

"It is frustrating," he says. "The network has a responsibility to entice viewers to come back to the show and tell other viewers to watch the show, and they do a fantastic job at that. [The writers] do a fantastic job writing intricate plot points that make it very difficult to put those trailers together. Obviously, on our side of the fence, we would rather have no promos. But that's not realistic."

1:34:31 -- Critics have written that 24 sometimes seems as if it was written the way a five-year-old tells a story. Jack dies! Jack is fine again! Writer-producers Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, who have a reputation for winging it at times, are asked if they have a clue how this season's potboiler about Mexican drug lords, a killer virus and turncoat triple agents is supposed to end.

      "No," Cochran replies.

"Bob, it's not a deposition," Surnow says.

1:37:13 -- Jerald is asked if there's ever been a time she picked up a script for her character and thought, "I can't believe this is happening."

"Every time I pick up a script," Jerald replies. "I look at it and think, 'Oh, my God, she's doing what?' In the first season, I remember looking at the script and it said I'm going to pimp my husband, and I thought, 'You know, she really is different from what I thought she'd be.' I'm always surprised when I pick up a script. These fellows here, I don't know what kind of women they're hanging out with."

1:42:50 -- Surnow and Cochran are asked how real their fictional president is. After all, he never seems surrounded by a cadre of secret agents or handlers, whereas President Bartlet on The West Wing can't go to the bathroom without two memos and a mob of advisers.

"First of all," Surnow replies, "none of our characters ever goes to the bathroom, so we don't have that problem."

"My guess is Bill Clinton did a few things when there weren't any secret agents around to watch," Cochran adds. "The secret agents are there. You just can't see them. That's probably the way to look at it."

1:43:01 -- It seems like exile in northern Africa has really agreed with Nina.

So will we ever learn what happened to her?

"She took a few knitting classes, learned to speak languages," Surnow says facetiously. "You know, our show really doesn't dwell on what happened before. It's real time. It's what's happening in that moment. We will give little indications of things from her past from time to time, but they usually won't matter. Yes, it's interesting to a certain degree, but we really don't have time in the show to keep the tension ratcheted up and then stop and tell people what happened in the past. Because that really doesn't feel that tense."

1:46:15 -- The actors are asked if the constant surprises make it hard to stay in the moment.

"I don't sleep any more," Carlos Bernard, who plays Tony Almeida, replies. "Or go to the bathroom. I feel that helps me a great deal."

1:48:21 -- Sutherland reveals the inside skinny on how to walk and talk on a cellphone at the same time.

"One of the things I've found is that if he's moving, it works. It's easier to have a conversation on the run using a cellphone than it is to have a conversation with someone running beside you. It's become a device where my character can internalize panic, can express any number of different things while having a conversation with someone else. It's a fantastic device for my character. The only downside is that I'm half-deaf in one ear, and so naturally I put the phone in my good ear, and so I can barely hear the other actors I'm working with."

1:53:10 -- Bernard is asked what ran through his mind when he read in the script that his actor was going to be shot in the neck and undergo major surgery, without knowing that his character would be up and walking around after no more than an hour or so.

"They took me aside," Bernard says, "but there was one crucial detail in them taking me aside. They didn't put their arm around my shoulder."

1:58:01 -- Can the producers assure loyal viewers of 24, on the heads of their dead or dying grandmothers, that they won't have to suffer through the spectacle of Kim being kidnapped again?

"We don't like to repeat ourselves, if we can at all avoid it," Surnow assures the loyal viewers. "Not to say that we haven't tortured 500 people on the show. We do try to keep ahead of the audience. And, by definition, that means not repeating yourself.

1:58:23 -- Is it possible for 24 to end a season without killing a regular character?

"Sure," Surnow replies. "We're going to kill one of the writers instead."

The woman interviewing her asked if anything exciting was going to happen on the show and Elisha said that her and Kiefer were going to get a chance to kick some butt, that they had worked on a fighting scene. Wonder who father and daughter could be fighting?

    • 24 (FOX)/ER (NBC) - British actor Paul Blackthorne ("Presidio Med") has landed recurring roles on both series as well as a to-be-determined pilot on ABC targeted for fall 2004. He'll play a surgeon on the latter and an British ex-special agent on the former.

British actor Paul Blackthorne will be playing an ex MI:5 Agent in the early morning hours of Season Three. His involvement will somehow tie into Michael Amador and may even have a connection to "The Donation", which was a short film produced by Ford that premiered at the opening of Season Three which sources close to production reveal was secretely written by the writers of "24" but produced by an advertising agency Ford hired.

Canadian actor Lothaire Bluteau has joined the cast of "24" and will first be seen early on during the 2:00-3:00 a.m. episode. Lothaire Bluteau is friends with Kiefer Sutherland and they did the 2001 film Dead Heat together.

Vielleicht einigen als Tony LaRoche in Dead Heat (Dead Heat - Tödliches Rennen) bekannt?

And actress Jenette Goldstein has joined the cast of Season Three. Her character's last name is Plachecki. Also Lothaire Bluteau arrives to the plot at the same time as Marcus Alvers so he MAY be the next villian in "24".

Gesucht wird eine Art "Kim" Charakter fuer zwei Episoden, als Begleitung eines Boesewichts.

      Hat hier jemand Interesse ?

      -------------------- SPOILER Anfang -----------------------

02/14 - Producers are now looking to cast the character of Jane Saunders, who will appear in two episodes at this point -- beginning with episode 18 -- and perhaps one or two more. Described as in her late teens, she "must resemble Kim Bauer in height, body type and facially. This is an important plot point...blonde hair is not absolutely necessary. We need an actress with an emotional range." Things that make you go hmmmm...

"24" is taking another long break and the Season will soon make it's transition from terrorist threat to terrorist attack. It also looks like spoilers will be scarce due to 24's new security measures, but I will have my usual episode descriptions but I can't speak for the other members of the 24 spoiler community. Even with Fox's new and clever security techniques I still managed to find a few brand new spoilers. The writers have full knowledge that the hardcore fans hate Ryan Chappelle. They also know that he is a very suspicious character and they have some unusual plans for Chappelle. He I guess could be called the "antihero". His character will make a complete turnaround and somehow save the day. Also Elisha Cuthbert looks to be long gone from the plot and her agent has been hunting for new projects for her and landed a few quality roles. I am in NO way saying Kim Bauer will die it's just that she will leave the plot very late in the Season and let daddy do all the biological hunting.

My sources keep telling me that they hear Nina Myers will continue to haunt Jack and certain elements within CTU. (She's 100% dead don't worry). One very important thing to remember is that Nina's buyers for the virus were screwed out of a virus and 240 million bucks and I have a feeling that Jack as well as the present owners of the virus will eventually feel the wrath of the original buyers as well some old friends of Nina Myers. I think this group of Nina's friends call her Yelena, Get me ? It would kick ass to have both Jack and other terrorists going after Stephen Saunders and his remaining 11 vials. Jack will likely be outside of Los Angeles during the late morning hours mainly because of the spread of the virus and because Saunders or whoever will have the virus will want to keep a safe distance from the potential targets. It is still unknown of Saunders will wage a massive campaign which would include East Coast cities. It's even unknown if Saunders will be the villain after 9:00 a.m.. "24" likes to add new villains late in the Season (Victor Drazen, Max). If you have any questions about "24" e-mail me at RyansReport@Hotmail.com.
