Aber wenn sie den zweiten Teil erst im Herbst 2008 zeigen würden, würde das ja bedeuten, dass sie auch so lange drehen. Das würde wiederum bedeuten, dass sie mit S8 nicht rechtzeitig für Januar 2009 fertig werden. Ich hoffe sie kommen nicht in die Zwickmühle.

24: Fans won't be happy about this. The promotional push for Season 7 had already begun, but given the situation, the show might not debut at all this TV season. Because of the heavily serialized nature of the series and the specific 24 hours over 24 episodes format, FOX and the producers are debating whether it's worth airing only the first few episodes of the season, only to have the storyline be cut off for an unknown amount of time. Sources IGN spoke to have heard that the show has enough scripts completed to only get them through around episode 10 of the season. Beyond that, if production can't resume within a month, it's almost certain to ensure that the show won't be able to complete 24 episodes this season and thus won't be airing at all. Presumably the completed episodes would be held for whenever production does resume and air together during the 2008 - 2009 TV season.

Die WGA ist die Gewerkschaft für TV und Kino, von daher macht es keinen Unterschied. Es sind ja auch die gleichen Autoren.

Was sie letztes Jahr hatten war ein erstes Script, sowas ist in der Regel nicht in einem verfilmbaren Zustand. Ich habe auch gehört, dass einige Ideen aus dem Script schon in die S6 flossen, von daher muss das sicherlich nochmal komplett überarbeitet werden. Von daher kann man die Idee wohl ganz schnell wieder vergessen.

Ich habe eben gelesen, dass ein Großteil der Showrunner der Serien die Arbeiten mittlerweile ganz eingestellt haben. Wie es um 24 steht lässt sich leider irgendwie nicht herausbekommen. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob ich überhaupt will, dass sie die Folgen ohne die Autoren weiterdrehen. Während der Dreh's kommt es ja oft zu Überarbeitungen der Scripts um die Geschichte zu verbessern. Falls also nur noch strikt nach den Scripts gearbeitet wird, wie sie bisher fertig sind, könnte die Qualität der Folgen stark darunter leiden.

In einem Artikel der Variety wird darüber gesprochen, dass, sobald die Shows keine Scripts mehr haben, die Studios die Mitarbeiter der Serien entlassen müssen, weil es dann für sie nichts mehr zu tun gibt. Okay, ob sie das MÜSSEN ist natürlich nicht gesagt, aber es ist natürlich ein geeignetes Druckmittel gegenüber der WGA um mit den Streiks aufzuhören. In dem Zusammenhang habe ich auch einige Erwähnungen von 24 gefunden:

"It will be true across the board, and not just ‘24,' " one exec said, referring to rumors that "24" staffers had already been let go. "There will be layoffs."

"As those jobs become obsolete and shows finish up their final script, we can't keep those jobs," one exec said.

Across the board, execs said each show is different, with some productions likely to continue until the end of the month (such as "24"), while others will go dark a lot sooner.

Die Dreharbeiten werden also voraussichtlich noch bis Ende des Monats gehen. Nicht wie bei Desperate Housewives, da ist schon heute Schluß.

Für mich wäre das der Super-Gau, wenn ich noch ein Jahr oder so warten müsste.

Was die Nicht-Gewerkschaftler angeht ist in Hollywood das Problem, dass man eigentlich in der WGA sein MUSS, um einen Job zu bekommen, von daher sind alle in der Gewerkschaft. Die Soaps wollen wohl wirklich welche Einstellen, die nicht drin sind, aber wie gut die Qualität dann ist sei Mal dahingestellt. Die Soaps haben vor 20 Jahren auch schon so gehandelt und soweit ich weiß, waren die Fans von den daraus entstandenen Folgen sehr enttäuscht.
